About Fairfield City Physie

Fairfield City Physie (also known historically as both Fairfield and Fairfield RSL) is one of the Edith Parsons School of Physical Culture's foundation clubs. Founded by Mrs Anne Johanson and Mrs Norma Sullivan in 1961, and now taught by two of their beloved students, the club is woven into the fabric of the Fairfield City community, and has served as a great place for local girls and women to exercise, have fun and make friends for over 60 years.

Though small in number, Fairfield City is a club full of talent and dedication, having produced countless winning teams and individuals over its rich and storied history. The club has also produced five Grand Champion Girls, who have won the school's most prestigious title ten times between them.

Dawn Baker: 1969
Debbie West: 1990
Leanne Henderson: 1991, 1992 and 1996
Samantha Taylor: 1999 and 2001
Courtney West: 2007, 2009 and 2013

Through Physie, life-long friendships are made, with social opportunities on offer including Christmas parties, birthday celebrations and ladies' nights out. It's a place where you're always welcome to return after an absence, no matter how long. Above all else, Fairfield City Physie is a family club, and it is proud to continue the tradition of providing a place where mothers, daughters, sisters, cousins, grandmothers, granddaughters, aunts and nieces can participate together in, and gain immense physical, mental and emotional benefit from, an activity that they love.
